Newspaper enters online era

Newspapers are dead. An often heard statement, especially among media professionals. Not that there is no interest for news. Not at all. We are consuming news all the time: newsbots, rss, alerts, podcasts, etc with devices like the laptop, pda, music player, mobile etc. News is 24/7 as ever before. No print can compete this trend.

What print can do, is not fighting it but being the one who puts the headlines in perspective. Giving the necessary backgroundinformation that enables us to understand why we hear, see and read everywhere the same news. What's the story behind it? And furthermore: do please filter the massive news streams. Be the guide and select only the really important issues.

From now on, such a title excists in The Netherlands: nrc.next. This newspaper in tabloid is an initiative of NRC Handelsblad, the Dutch most respected quality newspaper.

Look for the intriguing commercials at nrcnext.nl.
